Kaon Photoproduction of the Deuteron and the P -matrix Approach to the Y N Final State Interaction

Strangeness photoproduction of the deuteron is investigated theoretically making use of the covariant reaction formalism and the P –matrix approach the final state hyperon-nucleon interaction. Remarkably simple analytical expression for the amplitude is obtained. Pronounced effects due to final state interaction are predicted.

A strong enhancement in the total cross section is found from the two-step process.
